Many people are aware that the start of June saw significant changes to the social distancing rules around COVID-19.
Pubs, clubs, restaurants, cafes and stores are all opening up once again, though with reduced capacity. The same has occurred for funerals. We are now able to hold a funeral service with up to 50 people in attendance. This is the maximum, as of June 1st. But, because the 4 square meter rule still applies, some chapels or other areas cannot accommodate all 50 guests.
At H.Parsons Funeral Directors we have 4 chapels: Wollongong, Bulli, Dapto and Warilla. Each chapel varies in size, though they can accommodate the maximum under current restrictions of 50 people. The only exception is Warilla, which can only accommodate 30 people, due to the 4 meter square rule.

While we are well on our way to returning to normal, there are still some extra measures which we are taking to ensure the safety of our guests and of our staff. For starters, we are keeping a register of attendees. We ask that visitors provide their name and contact details so that they can be contacted if it is later discovered that another attendee was ill.
In all of our chapels we have spaced out the seating in order to give people the required distances. What this means is that some seating may be in the foyer of the chapel. Our staff has done their best to ensure that people are as connected as possible, while still being safe.

Should you be unsure about social distancing or if you would like to sit nearer to someone, please ask one of our staff members. They will be able to help you and give you the most accurate information.
Again, we would like to thank everyone that has been impacted by social distancing for their help, patience and understanding. As restrictions continue to lift, H.Parsons Funeral Directors will continue to ensure the safety of our attendees and staff.
